Rise of Hawk, Part 2, Scene 33 Day Six

Agent Heth Pallen sat at his broad wooden desk with a pen in hand and a litter of paper spread across the desk.  He hated desk work, but as a Project Head it was simply part of the job and there was a lot of work associated with the search for Hawk.  They had a massive network of Resources, through every echelon of the Agency as well as out in the public.  All collecting information and rumor in the hope of finding something, anything, about this strange Rebel Leader.

His office door opened and someone stepped in without even knocking--a sign of someone undisciplined or simply disrespectful.
Rise of Hawk, Part 2, Scene 31 * 31 *

Taelin pushed the door open and stepped inside.  The room was dim and dirty.  The neon overhead flickered and didn't do near enough of a job to bring light to the corners of the room.  The off-green wallpaper was faded and peeling at odd places and there was no furniture, just the stained faded-grey linoleum floor and a chipped wall heater on the far side.

Nalana lay on her back in the middle of the room.  One arm was splayed out next to her and a man in dark clothes sat crouched over her tying something around her wrist.

Tae lifted his weapon.  "Get away from her!"

The ground floor of the casino was huge and virtually heaving with celebrating drunken people.  Lights flashed from winning and losing slot machines, and the smoke-filled air obscured the vivid reds and golds of the décor.  Taelin constantly fought to keep his footing, as people pushed past him in their inebriated revelry.

The purely physical side of the casino was intensely overpowering on its own, but psychically it was worse.  The telepathic noise stabbed like shards of glass into his brain from all of the unshielded minds of patrons.  Another person bumped into him, placing their hand
